Halstead, Kansas This RV
Park is definitely on our list of places we will stop at again
if we're passing through this area.
We stayed two nights at Spring Lake RV Resort. The
first day we got there was so hot –
105°F – that we headed into Halstead for pizza as soon as we had
the camper unhooked and the air conditioning turned on.
The next day was another blistering hot day, which limited what
we were able to do outside.
Spring Lake is the largest RV Park
in Kansas. It has 180 RV sites on 93 acres. The park
is open year round and can be packed during 4th of July,
Memorial Day, and Labor Day weeks. It has 30/50 amp
service, with full hookups and pull-throughs.
Some of the online references say
that the campground has free WiFi. This was not the case
when we were there. Directions:
- From Salina: Take I-135 South to Exit
48, turn right on County Road through Moundridge; go South
14 miles to U.S. 50, turn right (west 2 miles) to Spring

- From Hutchinson: From Rt. 61, take U.S.
50 East 18 miles to Spring Lake Road; Turn right 150 yards
