Yellowstone Images       Info This section of the site contains vintage images from the early days of Yellowstone National Park.  This collection is copyrighted as a compilation.  Individual images are derivative works from the public domain that have been cropped and/or digitally enhanced to improve the image. The online source location of the public domain image is provided for each image. The Grand Cañon, Yellowstone by Thomas Moran  Prang's American Chromos.  c.1875 (original Prang image) Library of Congress image: http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.pnp/cph.3g03245 - Note! - this image is reversed on the LOC website.  I first noticed it when I was examining the text on the bottom of the image.  After I restored my copy to the correct orientation, it corresponded to my memory of the area, particularly the hills in the vicinity if the falls.  Rather than rely completely on memory, I also compared it to other images of the canyon.
