John Davis house

johndavishouse.jpg

Completed about 1900 and part of the Mountain Farm Museum. Buildings were moved to the museum from throughout the national park in the early 1950s and reflect the daily challenges faced by mountain farm families.

In this house, the log walls are "matched." Davis split chestnut logs in half along their length and placed the halves in matching positions on opposite walls.
