The Ranchero [Corpus Christi, TX], September 1, 1860
On the night of the 17th ult., a large fire consumed a large part of the business houses of Houston. The Kelly House, a large three story building was destroyed. The next morning the charred remains of a man were found, who was burned in Hoffman’s hotel. It is supposed his name was Perkins. The fire, judged from the evidence, was accidental.
